RPM Whine

Finally the mechanical engineer inside me has cracked. Hear the whine? RPM =
Revolutions per minute. Try saying that out loud with an extra "s". RPM is
already plural so why add the extra "s" unless you have been listening to
NASCAR for too long. RPM's = Revolutions per minute"s". Does that make any
sense?
I'll confess that my thermodynamics instructor ranted and raved about this
so much that I am permanently scarred, sorry.
