2000+ with Immobiliser

As far as I know (been in mobile elctronics instal-lations for seven years), none of the Nissans/Infin-
ity models up until 2000 had any type of built-in
immobilizer. So there is no cost-effective way to
use the newer immobilizers on older ecu's. It would be
cheaper to go aftermarket in terms of security, although
having the immobilizer is effective. Only concern with
mixing and matching the newer immobilizer and an older
ecu is the reliability. If there is a malfunction, the
car will not start and you have to find a way to bypass
the system. The dealer will just laugh at you when you
tell them that you found a way to mix n match the
system and it locked you out. Just something to think
about...
