seatbelt question

"i have been having trouble with the driver's side belt retracting when
i unbuckle."

I was noticing that problem on a 1994 Altima. It turned out that crud
had built up on the loop that the belt slides through. The interior was
beige, which made it easier to see. After cleaning it off, the belt slid
through the loop more easily. So, I checked my 1992 SE-R and it had the
same buildup. You just couldn't see it since the loop was crud-colored.
It helped.
