Well, you're comparing the QR to an SR, which in this case is slightly out
of context.  The QR is a large-displacement, low-RPM, low-emissions
engine.  The SR was designed from the start for use of a turbocharger and
all-day 7500 RPM durability, which dictates a different approach from the
cleaner, lighter QR.  I think a fairer comparison *might* be the KA, but I
have no idea what the KA was designed for, let alone what it's subsequent
weaknesses and strengths are.  I'm just another monkey with a keyboard,
sick of all of the QR bashing.

And if Dave Coleman's QR25 still holds oil, I'd take that for a vote of
confidence in the weaker engine family...
