300/200 springs with older agx shocks pretty harsh,
autocross...

At an autocross this last weekend at PIR in Portland, a friend dual drove my
car with me. Right now, it has hyperco 300/200 springs with approx. 3 year
old agx shocks (only 6 months on new springs, the rest of the time on stock
springs), full poly bushings, and an ST rear bar at the middle setting, and
race tires.
Anyway, the back side of this lot is rather bumpy, and we had to set the
shocks at full stiff in the front (4/4) and nearly 90% stiff in the rear to
keep the car in control over this part of the course. Otherwise it just
bounced up and down, nearly uncontrollable.
On the street, I don't have to have it nearly as stiff, but its stiff enough
to make the ride quality pretty harsh (I was running 3/4 front and 3/8 rear
to sufficiently dampen the springs). I know I'm not going to get luxury while
on 300/200 springs, but I think it could be better than it is.
I'm thinking of ditching the agxs in favor for a set of single adjustable
konis (which are rebound adjustable only, if I'm correct). My thinking is the
street ride quality will improve (while keeping the springs dampened), and
should make more bumpy parts of autocross courses more managable.
Any thoughts from those that have somewhat similar setups (konis and/or agxs)
or autox on less than perfect pavement? What shock settings (AGX) have others
found for 300/200 springs?
Thanks,
Aaron
