Yes, stainless has a bad habit of cutting itself and everything it touches.  I
bought goodridge stainless lines for my classic and covered them with 3/8"
spiral-cut wire loom.  Works great.  I first saw this trick in one of my
Porsche books while reading about the brake systems on their works cars.

As you can see the brake line gets very close to the strut when the wheels are
turned.
