You only need 91, it's said, but there's no harm in being paranoid. :)

There are two articles you should read.  Naji did this one, and it
applies well to '91-97 SR20DEs:

His proceedure and notes are about as accurate as you'll get.  The
timing mode mentioned is necessary, and there are two ways to get into
it; his site mentions both.  I also wrote this one for '98+ cars, though
I do not chronicle the FSM-mentioned method of entering "timing mode:"

(sorry for the long URL).  The only differences that I know of between
the new and old engines is the number of sensors over the TB (one or
two) and the marks on the accessory drive pulley.  You didn't mention
what year your car was, so I just decided to link both. :)
