This will not be effective.

It will prevent the clamp moving relative to the pipe, but that is not the
problem.  The pipe will still blow off the smooth tube end and the retainer
for the clam will not prevent it.

This would certainly work.  It's far less effort to make the epoxy beads
however.  In fact, it's so easy, unless you have access to a beader, I
cannot imagine why anyone would do anything else.
