Clutch gritch (as it actually has been called - important to know for an
archive search) is indeed covered pretty well in the archives. However, it
really has nothing to do with a pedal squeak. They are entirely different
issues.

Sometimes, but an archive search will point out that this is rarely the
case. It *usually* can only be fixed with a clutch replacement and/or
cleaning an lubing the pivot arm pivot points.

Cable replacement has fixed gritch on rare occasion.
For a squeak, however, it's more likely just the mechanical bits of the
pedal need lubrication.
