My girlfriend's 98 Sentra SE does the same. One night we were driving and all of a sudden, ALL gauge lights, HVAC lights went out. Headlight was still on though. 2 minutes later the lights came back on. It happens about once a month now a days. I slap the fuse area under the dimmer switch seem to speed up the recovery time. I doubt slapping it is making a difference though.
