My new car - clutch problems?

I just drove home my new black 96 200sx se-r. When I test drove it I noticed
that the clutch was slipping, and it also grabbed abnomaly high. However, I
still bought the car, and got $1300 off the asking price.. I figured I'd
rather get the work done myself than having them fix it.
However, after driving it all day today I didn't notice it slipping once,
just the "high" release, anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is?
