I don't have such a setup, but I know a number of folks will have a 2nd
trunk-mounted battery available just for the stereo, usually with a
number of large capacitors to handle the power spikes.  You might want
to visit with a few stereo shops in your area to chat with the folks
there and get some ideas on which way you want to go.
