a good reason for swapping bearings on a DET!

I wouldn't say, "you HAVE to swap them".  I would say, "You have to inspect
them".  Before installing my Bluebird DET and after hearing all of the rod
bearing horror stories, I pulled the pan (on the stand) and then pulled off
all of the rod and main caps.  Inspected all bearings for wear and
tolerance.  They were perfect.  I reinstalled the caps and pan and continued
with the install.  Car/DET had 45,000 trouble free miles and now it is
living in VA.  Hope it's happy.
