I think you might have misunderstood what I said:
_If_ you're cruising around on the street in a car with a rollcage, you
should not use DOT seatbelts because you're in danger from all the metal
tubing around you, and DOT seatbelts provide too much freedom.
Harnesses could be bad without a cage, I agree.
But I probably shouldn't have said anything, because most cages are
probably just plain dangerous without a helmet.
