Avanti - OT

Got this from friend in Villa Rica where his shop is. That is where they are
making the "new" Avanti...
Just goes to show some people have more money then sense.

I was picking up the shop truck from the local mechanic and saw a new Avanti
in the parking lot. Turns out that Avanti corp. is really producing cars and
this is number 38. This local garage installs exhaust systems for them. The
mechanic said the new Avanti is a $90K Trans-Am. Turns out Avanti Co goes
and buys a new T/A at a dealership, strips the body off and puts their own
body on kinda like a kit car. It has all T/A mechanicals, chassis and
interior although they replace the T/A emblems inside with Avanti emblems.
It even has the T/A VIN number. Evidently there are enough people out there
that will pay an extra $60K to have an Avanti body put on a T/A. I mean it
is a nice car but damn, some people have more money than sense. They have
made a few supercharged versions. The guy told me #8 was a 5.7 with a 6speed
and a blower. He said it would really haul ass. He also told me another one
h! ad the funky paint that changes color with the different light angles
(like the '96 Mustang Mystic). He said someone paid $100+ for that ugly ass
car.
