The QR25 has really low tension rings plus a high piston speed. The cylinder liners and rings are also really hard to give long life under high piston speed. It is being found that it takes 5000-10000 miles to break in the rings. Just keep the oil level high until you notice the drop in oil consumtion, then swtich to synth. Mike
