MAF nightmare, RD 2. (short)

Guys,

I did pore over the fuse box, everything looked good (just to
doublecheck) ... but I'm wondering now ... what could have died if I
didn't disconnect the battery first - I do remember seeing a couple
small arc's going from the solder to the MAF ground wire - car still
won't idle.

How can I test this a little further - someone who has an FSM - where do
those wires go.

Out of bananas AND ideas.
