>WRX turbo is 227HP out of 2.0L in stock trim.
>Good question on the AWD is how they dyno'd it.
*****I question the legitimacy of the claims as well. I understand that the
stock WRX dynos at about 160 or so at the wheels due to driveline losses
from the AWD.
In order to double this number you'd need a larger turbo, bigger injectors,
and a reworked or auxiliary ECU. From what has been in print however, it's
not too difficult to obtain 275-300 hp at the crank with simple bolt-ons.
I've been debating modifying my own WRX, but I figured I'd give the
aftermarket some time to establish proper tuning criteria, rather than
become a guinea pig.
