SR20 20th ?!?

I agree, the EVO isn't the car. The RSX-S or Civic-Si are close, but as
other have noted, although the shifter/clutch/steering/power feel is
terrific, the handling is abismal, with understeer until the cows come
home. No LSD either. I spent a long time driving my friend's RSX-S. We
did everything we could to correct the understeer. With giant, sticky
tires up front and tiny, all-seasons in back plus Mugen suspension, etc.
it still wouldn't rotate. It was ultra reliable though, so it wouldn't
do the decent thing and die on him. =/

Anyway, the Dodge Neon based SRT-4 comes to mind. Cheap, FWD, LSD
(latter models), factory fast, tore shit up in the autocross (especially
the ACR edition). It's a Dodge of course, and no longer available but
that's the car that came to mind for me. Maybe not what we'd hoped to
see as a successor, but what else is/was there?
