Omer,

Thanks for the explanation. I think I understand you correctly - by kick panels do you mean behind the trim panels in the footwells?

On Wednesday, November 30, 2016, Omer Khan <ohmfab@comcast.net> wrote:

Hi David,

Nice to hear of another drivable classic! Mine had been sitting for months. From what I remember the drain grommet can be access behind thr kick panels. There is some foam stuffed in the body void and the drain is behind it. You can blow out the drains from the open sunroof front corners. From under the car they come out and drain behind where the wheel liner goes back to the bottom of the rocker panel.

Not sure if that made any sense but hope it helps.

I need to take the fender off to replace this, I think, and it looks like I have reason enough to do it anyway, as there is some rust on the hinge panel on the cowl. It is a bit too high up to have ever been from accumulated leaves in the bottom of the fender, which in any event had been cleared out years and years ago. I suspect it may be a result of a blocked sunroof drain. There is some water staining on the headliner around the sunroof opening, too. Where exactly do the drains empty to? I can't find their lower ends.

David

Chicago
