I've been driving that car without wipers since February 2008! :) A good coat of Rain X and regular windshield cleaning (with a roll of shop towels in the back seat) have gotten me through most weather. Dirty roads and certain kinds of snow become too much for that, though, so it has always had a ghetto vibe! Yes, I know this is pathetic. My Fiat's wipers are inop also (the linkage tends to freeze up) but I never drive that car in the rain anyway. <br><br>In '08 the first things I checked were fuses and relays, which all tested good. I swapped relays and I think I manually powered them too to check. Also I took the column switch out and tested it. <br><br>The wipers quit when the car was parked overnight with the wipers on in the winter - snow and ice on the windshield in the morning, turn car on, motor tries to operate wipers but ain't movin', so something - like the switch contacts in the motor - burned out.<br><br>Do you know how I can test the motor with direct power? I couldn't figure that out. I have the FSM, but I'm not always the best at interpreting wiring diagrams and there does not appear to be diagram of the connector pinouts that clearly tells me what I can use to test it. Seriously, I don't have the experience you are asking for (I did just have to go in and replace that long arm under the cowl - cheap even from Nissan by the way) but are you double dog sure the problem is the original motor? With the new/old not operating - did you hit it with straight 12 volt just to check?- or hit the old one for that matter? And OK I'll be an asshole and ask about the fuses/relays too.
