I did my G20's pump with the engine in (and AC present) and it was enough of a PITA that I actually paid to have someone do the SE-R's pump. I can count on one hand the number of times I've paid someone to work on either of my SR20 cars in the last 13 years or so.<br><br>Like Eric said, gear wrenches are your big, big friends. Friends of the Gods for a job like this. <br><br>It's not an epic job or anything, it's just that there is so little access space. Of course, with the engine out it's a cakewalk, and if you have a desire or need to do things like replace the coolant lines under the intake or reseal the front end and the time, space and inclination to drop the whole powertrain, you can do a bunch of stuff at once.
