radio head unit hacking; exhaust center section.

In a couple of weeks I will finally be joining the modern-western-consumer world in getting an iPod. None of my vehicles have a radio with an AUX input. The Fiat needs a new radio anyway, but I'm stuck with what I've got on the SE-R and G20 (I don't want an aftermarket radio.) It would be nice to plug it into an input jack instead of using hokey cassette adapters, and the G20 is CD-only anyway.

Have any one of y'all hacked an OE radio to provide an AUX input jack? I don't know what the workings of those radio are like, but it seems pretty reasonable that there is some sort of signal input line or circuit that you could splice a line into, then run it out the back of the casing and out to the console somewhere. I've to a spare '91 radio to practice on if I can find it.

Also, is there anyone in the midwest (how many people are left on this list, anyway?) - I'm in Chicago - with a spare B13 SE-R center exhaust section and, if I'm lucky, a decent-condition Hotshot header secondary? After ***holes stole the cat (WTF?!) on my SE-R in June I need to replace most of the exhaust on the car before I drive it again. This might better be directed tot he fora, but no harm in asking here. Yeah, I can get a muffler shop to make one for me, but I'm interested in low-cost and easy.

thanks,
David
