Nitrogen filled tires

According to Road and Track Technical Correspondence, nitrogen is inert
and oxygen-free, so it doesn not oxidize the rubber in the tire or
support corrosion as readily and tires retain their inflation better
than with compressed air.
I got tires for the van at Costco and they automatically put nitrogen in
the tires, along with green caps on the valve stems. I went about 4
times as long without having to add air. You can add some air without
losing much of the benefits.
