Always keep the above in mind. The guy who hit you is their customer,
not you. The job of his insurer is to insure HIM, not you, against
loss. His insurer's goal is to resolve your claim against their client
without having to defend their client in court, as quickly and cheaply
as possible. Keep that in mind. Present your evidence of a fair value,
and if they screw around with you, remind them of the fact that their
client damaged your property, and you will take him to court to fix it
if necessary. If you have a reasonable case to make for the price you
want, they'll pay you and get your case off their desk.
