I'll second that, as I too had to beat the crap out of the driver's axle on
my G20. And, despite knowing better, I did pound on the end of the axle and
I did bugger the threads. However, like Geo, et. al. with (just!) the right
technique, I don't think it's necessary. Greasing the c-clip in place is a
little helpful, but I believe the key is to get it lined up just right
(perp.) and then rotating it a bit if it doesn't go in with reasonable effort.
Also, do any of y'all have any words about how long it is reasonable to
leabe MT90 in the gearbox for? Mine has been in there forever and ever and
it is just as buttery-shifting as ever. The SE-R will need new CV boots
soon and it is a natural time for a gearbox oil change.
