Jim - Go for 15x7 if you want a little extra performance. The extra .5
inch in width will help your tires maintain a good contact patch -
whether you have 195's or 205's.
Only thing is that affordable 15x7 wheels are a little harder to find
than 15x6.5.
IMO, the +38 offset you've chosen is the "magic" number for a 7" wide
wheel. I've had minor strut rubbing issues with +40, and minor fender
rubbing issues with +35 (this is all in the rear). If you go with a 6.5"
wide wheel, then you'll be in even better shape as far as rubbing goes.
