Have you checked if the fuel lines are hooked up right ? This is a EZ thing
to mess up on and it happened to almost all of us engine swappers here at
one point or another. Return goes to the fuel pressure regulator side.
Another thing is, have you opened up your valve cover ? Take a look inside
there, I had a similar problem on a SR20DET I swapped into my brothers car,
it wanted to start up but yet it didn't start. I was in a rush to install
the engine so I never even opened it up, just stripped all the unnecessary
wireing off the engine, all the accessories I was going to reuse off the old
US motor and stuck it in the car. I find out that 3 rocker arms are
shattered, and the engine just looks filthy inside- I have pictures if you
wanna see. Just immagine grabbing a jar of Helmans Mayo, but full of black
mayo and just throwing the jar under the valve cover.... it looked nasty.
There was sludge everywhere, looked like in the "approx 30K miles on this
engine" they always quote ya, the oil has never been changed. I ended up
removing the engine, taking it back to SOKO. I tore apart the new engine
they where giving me, in their warehouse- before I took it. I installed the
engine the next weeked- after polishing out alot of parts on the engine. On
the 1st crank it fired right up like it should. I've done alot of SR swaps,
they are no more complicated to do for me than doing a clutch job or
changeing a CV boot :)
