Clutch Disengagement problems (again!)

Hello all,
A few weeks ago the Key Value clutch threw a hub spring while I was shifting
from second to third. I was a bit tight on cash and decided to get a CAP
Clutch (www.capclutch.com) HX kit. The kit came with a new pressure plate,
T/O bearing, and disc.
I installed the new clutch and I am unable to get the car into gear with the
engine running. From my previous experience
(http://www.se-r-list.org/new-archives/Week-of-Mon-20030901/015740.html) the
first thing I did was to check all the adjustments on the pedal and the
cable. Still no dice. I can SHOVE the car into gear but it is hardly
drivable. The clutch cable has less than 40k miles on it and is in good
shape. I even have the clutch cable bracket moved back 1/2" by redrilling
holes in it to get more adjustment. Then I tried a bracket that has a 1"
spacer welded on the back to move the cable back to get even more
adjustment.
I spent the better part of today trying to get the clutch adjusted but it
just will not release. My buddy's driveway where I am working on the car is
uphill about 15 degrees, with the car IN 1st gear and with the clutch all
the way in the car will creep up the driveway.
I am thinking I received a bad pressure plate and will call the company on
Monday. Any one ever try one of these clutches or have any sort of
problems with them or have any ideas as to what else I can try before taking
the tranny out again? When looking at the lever arm from under the hood
it's moving over an inch which should be enough to disengage the pressure
plate. It's the same amoung of movement that the Key Value clutch needed.
This has really put me in a bind and I need to get the car up as soon as
possible. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Omer F. Khan
