To answer you questions... yes and yes.

There are actually 3 components that work together, here. The AAC, FICD and
the IAC. All of these can be pulled and cleaned... I know, I've done it.

I also cleaned my TB, by pulling it off, and then I went at the AAC, FICD
and IAC. These can get gunked, too, but it wasn't as nasty as the TB. If you
have A/C and ABS, it's a huge pain to do, not much space. There are some
excellent write-ups in these archives and at se-r.net... that's what I used.

When you clean the IAC(idle screw sits on top of this), do not use an o-ring
with the idle screw... use what the write-ups tell you to use, ask me how I
know;).

Have you reground your MAF yet? You probably have, but this can also affect
your idle.

Have fun and be prepared to get some scrapes.
