I agree with Mike has said. I believe that those who disagree either have a
different set of morals or are just ignorant of the facts.

A major point that many are forgeting is that our cars never had the
aftermarket support that the Honda boys have enjoyed. Our cars weren't
produced in the volumes required to instrest companies to invest money into
R&D to create performance parts for them.

It's only through the tireless work of guys like Kojima who work hand in
hand with companies like HotShot, JWT and others that we are fortunate
enough not only to have many aftermarket parts, but parts that are superior
to much of the crap that is peddled around the Honda camp.

Regarding headers, HotShot was the first company that created a decent
header for our cars. I remember Merlin testing them on his "Mule". Where was
OBX or Pacesetter back then? Instead of sitting on their asses with the
first design, the guys at HotShot have continued to improve THEIR design.
All that work costs time and money. I for one am proud to support companies
like HotShot and JWT that actively support our community, but that's not to
say I don't understand the confusion that leads to complaints.

People have expressed issues regarding HotShot's header build quality. The
earlier designs had some problems with cracks, but HotShot addressed these
issues. Improvements in construction AND performance were made. Pacesetter,
another company that copied HotShot's design, had problems with cracks also.
Where are the complaints about them? Some complaints are just ridiculous. A
thin-walled header cannot suffer the abuse that the stock cast iron unit
can. Those are the facts.

Sean, you stated that HotShot's build quality doesn't justify its price.
Much of what you are paying for when you purchase a product from HotShot is
the initial investment of time and money it took to create a header from
scratch. Don't forget they have continued to improve upon the design. It's
also built in the USA. All that adds to the price of a HotShot header. How
much did OBX have to invest into development? Nothing! They stole the design
from HotShot. Where do they build them? In China where labor costs are much,
much lower. It's no secret why they can sell it for $150.

(Sean McMahon)I think you missed the point of what we were trying to say.
No one said "yay obx boo hotshot".  I think most of us were trying to point
out that hotshots quality does not justify its price.  If the build quiality
was anything like a fujitsubo header I doubt anyone would put up much fuss.

would think that Hotshot headers are pieces of shit
and they fall apart at a sneeze......................
I am adding all the people who support OBX to my never
help or answer tech questions list that I keep, not that
anyone probably cares.
