OK, until the day UTOQ ratings are uniform and the
treadwear numnbers are regulated to a specific
standard, experienced tire users are the best
resource.
So, I am looking at two tires for my daily driver. One
is the Falken Beta FK 451 and the other Yokohama AVS
ES 100. They are both a 280/aa/a rated tire and both
205/50/16.
I have read countless reviews from various forums and
websites and it seems the Yok's have the advantage
over the Falken's simply based on number of reviews.
Maybe 50-75:1 ratio. From what I have read so far, and
keeping in mind you can't please everyone, the Falkens
seem to have balancing issues and can flat spot. I
have also read the same for the Yoks. I must give the
benefit of the doubt since most reviews do not explain
the scenario for the bad review. Jim-Bob tire
installer may not know how to true balance a tire.
Maybe there were some manufacturer defect, or a bad
batch.
Regardless, anyone who has used either one of these
tires, I would like to invite you to share your tire
owning experience with one, of both of these tires.
(currently I am 60/40 toward the Yoks)
Thanks again...
