When I upgraded to the AD22's on my Classic, I installed SMC brake lines
at the same time, but kept the stock master cylinder. This setup gave me
the rock hard pedal that you're looking for. If you're still using the
stock lines that came with the car, then maybe it's time to get new ones
anyway.
