The claim would most likely be covered under
Collision, not comprehensive. I recently had a
similar claim and had a conversation with my agent.
My car got damaged by a metal barrel rolling around in
a parking lot during a windstorm. He told me that
comprehensive would cover that, but if the damage had
been caused by a vehicle hit-and-run then it would
come out of Collision.
Most likely your collision coverate (if you have it)
is going to have a deductible of $250-$1000. Who's
your insurance company?
I agree with the other LMs; your company shouldn't
drop you but they could jack your rate a little.
