Not yet.  I am considering those to replace my FKs, but that won't happen
at least until next summer.  At LEAST.  I'm torn between the ST-115 and a
Nitto NeoGen, though.

Those grooves are for rain evacuation.  I really don't think your concern
is valid; most nails lay on the ground flat.
