Thoughts On Enlarging Strut Tower Hole

This may sound familiar to some of you, but here it goes: :D

I'm am researching (and researching, and researching) different
suspension setup for my B15. It was suggested to me that if I was going
to be doing road racing and Auto-x that Camber/caster plates would be
useful and suggested. The only problem is that the hole in the body
where the front suspension mount bolts come through the body is only
about 1.5-2" in diameter. Compare this to the 3" diameter hole in the
B13 and B14 and you quickly see why the camber/caster plates would not
work on the B15.

The simple solution is to grid out/enlarge the whole to the 3" diameter
that is found on the B14. Sounds simple enough, but my concern is
structural integrity. Taking a 1.5" hole in the body of the car and
making it a 3" hole makes me a little uneasy. At the same time the other
part of me says it should be fine because the B14, which is similar to
the B15, has a 3" hole in stock form. There has to be some logical
reason why Nissan made the hole in the B15 half the size of other
Sentras, I am just hoping that the reason is not structural.

To get down to it I would like to know what your take on making the hole
bigger is (Good/Bad). I would also like to know if the B14 camber/caster
plates (I would probably use GC plates) fit on the B15? Most suspension
parts are interchangeable between the B15 and B14, so again my instinct
says that they would.
