They won't last that long if the car is winter driven.  They
don't seem to like flexing in subzero temperatures.  Now that
my car's a summer driver only, they seem to last much longer.

After they're 5 years old, you could check them occasionally,
it's easy to do when you're under there doing an oil change.
If one has ruptured, there's grease everywhere in the wheel
well, so there's no doubt when one is gone.
