How to corner a short?

I pulled out the gauge pod and dimmer etc. since that was my first
indication of a problem. Although the cicuit is primarily exterior
lighting, it looks like, from the FSM, ('92 pg EL-46 for those
following along at home) that the dash lights share that circuit.
So I put in a new fuse and it popped again.

The problem appears to be the outer lighting: coner lamps front/rear,
license lamp, tail lamp. I'm going to check the license lights
since that was where I did some rust abatement a couple of weeks ago.
Any suggestions for hunting down a short would be really appreciated!
