How interesting. There is a rigging adjustment on modern boats
which tensions the luff (leading edge) of a sail, called "the
cunningham." Turns out he invented it. Nearly every day there
is somebody somewhere screaming at their crew "more (or less)
cunningham!" He's immortal! :-)
