I like to raise the car up on the lift, have someone get in the car while I
grab a stetoscope and listen to which wheel is making the noise by putting
the probe of the scope on the steering knuckle and listen for various noises
like that. I know U probably aint got a lift like I do, so I would put
cinder blocks or jack stands under the car and do the same by laying on the
ground. My SE-R front bearings used to click and do all sort of NON wheel
bearing noise and I couldn't figure out what it was, repleaced the tranny,
the axles cause it seemed to be the loudest there... and at the end when I
checked the bearings they fell apart. Another thing I see is sometimes
someone does a CV boot or a tranny on the car and they do not tighten the
axle nut down and this destroys the wheel bearing. In my case it was
bearings from old age- 10 years old and lots of miles, No bearing lasts
forever, especially one that has all sorts of diff stress applied to it.
