800watt stereo VS Westco Battery

Actually I could wire my speakers in parrallel and put out 1200watts (2
amps) but I really don't need that much power (did I just say that?)

Anyways, the problem I'm having is the lights dimming when my bass gets
heavy. I've actually read your post about the pulleys earlier and I was
thinking of doing that and also having it rebuilt for higher output since
most aftermarket alternators are $$$! Any cars in particular that I should
keep an eye out for at the junkyard?

I can't remember which Optima Red Top battery is in the donor car but it's
either model 34/78(was 800U) or the 75/35 (was 725U) I'm hoping that should
be good to go.

About the factory wires, I'm definitely gonna look into upgrading them.

First off, 800 watts isn't a large stereo. :)

Second, you didn't mention if you are having capacity issues or, drain
issues. That is required info to offer advice.

That being said, some advice:

I ran for 4 years or so in various Nissans with Optima batteries. Never
had a single problem. Almost always when guys have this sort of issue,
it is something draining the battery, usually due to poor installs.
Aftermarket alarms are likely suspects. Deep cycle optimas work great
with two exceptions. When you drain one, and it's dead, and you hook it
to someone else's car for a jump, it puts a huge load on the doner car.
Usually kills the engine. Beware. Second, deep cycles don't last that
long, 1-2 years tops.

I have posted several times in the archives that Nissan uses most of the
same pulleys for the same devices. You can easily make an underdrive or
(in your case) overdrive pulley for almost any device in the engine bay.
Just take off your pulley and head to a junkyard. It really is that
simple.

Factory Nissan grounding straps aren't even 4 gauge, upgrade them.

Factory nissan power wire from the alternator isn't even 8 gauge.
Upgrade it.
