Just a little note for the SpecV owners on the list. Just put new rims
and tires on my 02.
I went with Katana Concept-10's and the Continental ContiExtremeContact
tires in a 225/45/17 size (slightly larger in diameter, speedo affected
about 1.33%). The tire fits with no clearance problems whatsoever.
Stayed with Continental because of the reviews at TireRack.com . The
ratings seem to hold with the reality of the tire. Have about 400 miles
on them so far in both wet and dry and they perform rather well. Cost
puts them in the lower middle of the pack price-wise. Got the whole
set-up from www.onlinetires.com (talk to Michael)
OK, so the rims aren't forged! :^) But Gunmetal 10 spokes on a Black
SpecV looks pretty good. and even in the larger size, the combo seems a
little lighter (by hand lifting) than the stock setup. Sidewall is
definately stiffer. Haven't had the chance to test them at the limit
yet. will report on that later.
