Head gaskets aren't much of an issue. They do leak from the valve cover, which
may appear like a head gasket leak.
The valves do tick if pushed hard. The cure is simple.. overfill the crankcase
with 1 quart of oil. Go to any track and you'll see ton sof M3's running with
no problems.
