In the latest issue of /Turbo/, they have a three-page article about
in-car tools an must-haves. The tool that spurred the article, actually,
is an anti-mar impact socket set for wheels from Griot's Garage.
The sockets are cool because they have an anti-mar coating to keep you
from f!ck!ng up your rims if the socket slips while the impact wrench is
at full-tilt boogie. Neat. They even come in a plastic carrying case.
First of all, I can't find the damned socket set on the Griot's web site.
Secondly, considering that they want eighty frickin' dollars for a 3.5#,
wooden-handled club, I don't think I *want* to know how much these
ubersockets cost.
Got to thinking...could I buy a somewhat-normal impact socket set and get
a similar coating applied? Whaddaya'think? Low-friction Powdercoating?
PTFE (Teflon)?
