Engine vs. drivetrain removal?

I was able to replace my front cover (timing cover) without
pulling the engine out of the car. I have an NX, if that makes a
difference. I don't know if there would be enough room in there
to replace the timing chain, but I would guess it would be
possible. The timing cover replacement took me about 10 hours
over 2 days.
