Can you say HELL YEAH?!?!?!?!
I'm stopping off at my favorite local salvage yard to see
what's up with an S10 with a blown 2.8 that I want to do
355 swap into.. So, as I pull up I see a hint of bright red with
a little spoiler on the back, as I get closer, I see the 14" alloy rims
and the stupid decal racing stripe across the middle over towards
the drivers side running lengthwise - you guys know, the 'speed stripe',
the one that gives your 50 whp.. Mint interior, big shaggy seat covers,
all black inside, looks like it got armorall'd _often_. Engine runs,
and
might find it's way right into my car, I hear some exhaust leak
somewhere,
I can track down/fix it, I hear the same one on my car with a knocking
rod.
Battery's shot, and the clutch is blown, and I have to take off those
stupid
autozone fog lights they attacked with duct tape and mechanics' wire,
but if I fixed
it, it'd be a bone stock with the standard power sunroof, maybe I should
fill mine in
with really thin/light sheet metal and take the motor and assemblies
out.
Wowsa! A parts car, or maybe a race car, for now, it's a heart
transplant donor.
5 speed, popout untested, all kinds of fun stuff to play with!
I think this'll make working on mine a little more fun, too, I
can experiment on the dead one, or get pieces to replace stuff I break
:P
Oh yeah, best of all, the price ... $200. Now who says it's a waste of
time stopping
by the salvage yard once a week?
