Remove the airbox, piping to the airbox, remove the clutch cable and
bracket. Remove battery, remove battery tray- 4 12mm bolts, 2mm nuts holding
the fuse box to the battery bracket. Remove the speedo cable/or sensor,
disconnect the tranny switches. Lift the car up about.... 20" off the
ground. Remove the splash shields around the bottom of the car, remove
wheels, remove axle nuts- make sure to keep the cotterpins, remove the
little clips holding the brake hose to the strut-just slides out- might need
to hit it with a hammer to break it loose. Remove the 2 17mm bolts that run
the spindle to the strut( both sides of the car), swing the axle out of the
spindles. Drain the tranny of any fluid. Remove the 3 12mm bolts holding the
pass axle to the bracket- that bolts to the engine block. Slide out the pass
axle- if U didn't drain the tranny- U will now have a big mess all over the
floor. Using a prybar- jam it between the tranny and the axle and pop the
drivers side axle out. Remove the 1 12mm bolt holding the shift rod to the
tranny- swing the rod out of the way. Now loosen the shifter supprt rod- 2
12mm nuts over the top of the rear engine mount/frame, now loosen the 14mm
nut that is on the shift support rod so U can swing the bracket with the
support shifter rod out of the frame. Remove 3 17mm bolts holding the tranny
up to the engine- front top of the tranny- looking at the car now. Remove 2
14mm bolts holding the starter to the engine/tranny. Now get under the car,
using a floor jack support the tranny while removing the drivers side trans
mount 3 14mm bolts that run through the tranny, and one 14mm bolt that bolts
up to the body of the car. Now remove 14mm bolts on the bottom of the
engine- they run through the oil pan. Remove the 3 bolts on the back of the
engine- one of them will go through the mount and its kinda hard to see,
other one is kinda vissable- still going through the rear mount. And there
is the 3rd 17mm bolt up near the starter. Now jiggle the tranny up and down
and it should come right out. I got it memorized sooo good that its not even
funny.
