I'm sorry, I never even thought of this. The amount of water that actually
stays in the cusion is minimal. We never even considered a drying period
before re-covering the seats with their new covers (almost always leather).
I'd say if you do it right, the cusion will be damp to the touch, but
nothing requiring any time to dry. If you use a makeshift steaming method
that leaves the cusion wetter than normal, and hour or two in the sun should
do fine. I re-covered my seat with cloth (which is thinner and would allow
water to seep through much more than leather) right after I had steamed it
and could not feel any wetness when I was done. I wouldn't worry about mold
or anything either, the difference between steaming and soaking in water is
huge. Happy trails!
