I prefer the mailing list and that stems entirely from signal-to-noise
ratio.

The forums are too noisy, with WAY too many people who don't think and
won't make any effort to do their own legwork.

I guess, in the end, that I have to thank the forums for sucking those same
people away from this list, making it a sane and enjoyable place to
exchange SE-R/SR20 information.
