I use a household upright; a Dirt Devil MVP. It's hose is long enough to
reach any spot in a Classic from the driver's side, and it's strong
enough to suck the dead pine needles out of the carpet. The sticker on
it enthusiastically shouts "12 AMPS!!", and it does an excellent job, so
maybe you'll want to look for something with at least that much power.
I did see a shop vac at Sears that was designed specifically for a
garage. It's tall and thin (designed to mount onto your wall), as
opposed to the ones that are short and squat with rollers. It also has a
nice long hose. I wouldn't mind finding one under the tree.
